Katie Dale

Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved to create art in many different forms. I love music, writing, and obviously, making art through painting and drawing. I am pretty creative and I definitely get that from my mom. Speaking of my lovely mother, she has always been a great influence and inspiration for me as she is an artist herself. I’ve learned so much from her. For my art pieces, it’s reassuring to know that I’m able to ask for advice, not just at school, but at home as well. I am also ever so lucky to have parents who I know will support me no matter what path I choose to take in life. Both of my parents are supportive of both me and my brother, who is the complete opposite of me interest wise (more of a math and science person).

Surprisingly, I was not actually planning on going to school for art or have a career in the art field. I had actually wanted to start a career in music for many years. Just like art, music has also been something I have been passionate about since I was a young child. At ten years old, I started to play the guitar. I still love to play and I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. Who knows? Maybe I can do something with both art and music in the future. Despite the fact that I’m not going to school for music, it still is something I might like to consider as an option for my future. Maybe someday.

Since I had been invested in the music field for so long, I actually did not start doing art professionally until my junior year of high school. I only started taking art classes that year at all. I went into Art 2 last year and had a great experience with the class. I was actually surprised that I was able to create decent art, despite the fact that I had little experience with actual art classes. This year, I enrolled into AP Art and Art 3. Although it is a lot of art to make in a somewhat short amount of time, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
